What is wrong with the grenade launcher in CoD4? and also Modern Warfare 2 has an amazing grenade launcher. I think a grenade launcher would compromise Halo’s “fast” game play and would contribute nothing to help balance the game. I can only see it either being an over powered or an under powered useless weapon.
Also, I’m curious to see how they will incorporate “new” weapons into a game which is set to be a prequel. For instance, it wouldn’t make much sense to have a grenade launcher in Reach but we don’t see one in any of the other games.
Well regarding your CoD4 comment about the Grenade Launcher, I just think it’s terrible how it duds out many times, especially in close range. It should explode no matter where/how you shoot it.
Now talking about adding new weapons into a prequel, just look at Halo Wars. They added many new things in that game that weren’t found in the previous Halo games. A simple solution could be that these weapons were either “prototypes” or lost on Reach after it was glassed.
