Are you trying to Fix PS3 Yellow Light of Death? In fact, this problem occurs because of the low grade thermal paste or heat sync paste used on these processors. To combat this problem first follow these simple steps to analyse the extent of damage to your PS3 .If you are lucky and the level of damage is less than your system can be revived.

A. If you feel your PS3 has been caught by heat, then switch it off, wait for 20minutes and switch it on again.

B. Check for any loose cables.

C. Take out the hard drive of the PS3 and put it back again. Repeat this procedure two to three times for better results.

If these steps do not work to fix PS3 yellow light of death then either you can send it to the respective company which is undoubtedly a very expensive option or you can download a stepwise audio video guide.

Procedures to Fix PS3 Yellow Light of Death

#1 You will require a heatgun, 3 screw drivers-1 torex, 2 robinsons (small and large), 1 phillips, high grade thermal paste and some isopropyl alcohol.

#6 The complete procedure should be completed in one sitting i.e.

opening it up and then fixing it back. So make sure that you have adequate time in hand, minimum one hour.

#7 Choose a spacious, clean and well lit work area.

#8 Place several containers to keep the screws for each stage of disassembly separately.

#9 Be very careful while taking out the rubber foot, which is the first step to open the PS3.

#10 Preferably screw back the screws directly into the chassis and keep in mind the position of the various screws.

#11 As you disassemble the PS3, keep cleaning the various parts.

#12 Insure that no dust enters the new thermal CPU compound as it can have an adverse effect.

#13 Once you get inside the system and it smells burnt then you might not be able to fix it.

#14 Be very careful while removing every part especially the ribbon cables and their clips.

#15 Some of the ribbon clasps open in the opposite way of others.

#16 Loosen the screws by moving towards left (anti- clockwise direction) and tighten them by moving towards right (clockwise direction).

#17 Make sure you have all the cables at the right place while assembling the PS3.

#18 Make sure everything has a tight fit i.e. all the ports are in the correct portholes.

#19 Be careful not to over torque the screws.
